sea chefs is currently seeking a qualified Barkeeper (f/m/d) to join the modern expedition fleet of Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, which includes the ice-class vessels HANSEATIC nature, HANSEATIC inspiration, and HANSEATIC spirit. Working in close coordination with the Chef de Bar and the onboard team, the successful candidate will independently manage one of the ship’s bars, prepare and serve international cocktails and beverages, advise guests with beverage recommendations, assist during onboard events, and oversee stock control, requisitions, and inventory audits. The initial contract length is 5 to 6 months based on individual agreement.
Applicants must hold formal vocational training in the upscale restaurant or hotel sector along with at least 1 year of professional bartending experience. Additional bartender certifications and extensive knowledge of cocktails, wines, and spirits are highly desirable. Candidates must demonstrate excellent manners, a well-groomed appearance, resilience under pressure, very good German language skills, and good English proficiency. sea chefs provides paid travel to and from the vessel, free board and lodging, exclusive crew facilities, health and accident insurance, free uniform cleaning, and career development training.
