sea chefs is currently seeking a qualified Chef de Cuisine (f/m/d) to join the modern expedition fleet of charterer Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, which includes the highest ice-class vessels HANSEATIC nature, HANSEATIC inspiration, and HANSEATIC spirit. Reporting directly to the Hotel Manager, the successful candidate acts as the primary decision-maker across the entire galley department. Core duties include supervising up to 3 on-board restaurants, designing and planning menus, organizing duty rosters, and providing professional and disciplinary leadership to a culinary team of up to 30 crew members while actively engaging with guests and attending to their feedback.
Applicants must hold completed vocational culinary training alongside proven leadership experience in upscale gastronomy or aboard cruise vessels. Strong culinary expertise, solid knowledge of food science, dependable management skills, a well-groomed demeanor, proficiency in MS Office, and fluent command of both German and English are required. The initial contract length is 4 to 6 months (subject to individual arrangement), accompanied by covered travel expenses, complimentary board and lodging, dedicated crew areas, health and accident insurance, uniform cleaning, and professional training opportunities.
